10:00 - 12:00 – Great Online Resources for Artists - In this class we’ll discuss all sorts of wonderful ways artists can use the web to their advantage. Includes websites where you can sell retail and wholesale, ways to advertise online, get your work featured on blogs, discussion forums for artists, and much more.

1:00 - 3:00 - Effective Sales Techniques for the Artist - We all like to think our art will sell itself, and none of us wants to be a pushy salesperson. But there are lots of great ways to increase your sales without manipulation or slimy sales techniques. You’ll learn what customers want and need from you, what information to share, how to share it effectively yet still be genuine and have fun.

3:30 - 5:30 - Creative Marketing - Creative ways to market your work for free or on the cheap and maximize your exposure at shows, on the web and in print without breaking the budget. We’ll talk about print ads, online advertising and promotion, as well as other fun ways to maximize your efforts by working with other artists to create co-op promotions and events at shows, by mail and more.

COST : $45 each / $120 for all three

About the Instructor

Pamela Corwin: Northwest Artist Pamela Corwin of Paper Scissors Rock creates clocks, magnets and alarm clocks in her studio in Olympia, Washington. Her work is available in over 300 stores nationwide. She has been in business since 1981. Her local classes include an eight-week class on running a viable art business and a workshop on transitioning from retail to wholesale in the crafts world.
